Gift Cards are prepaid Visa© debit cards that carry a fixed cash amount determined by the Gift Card purchaser. Each time the card is used, the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance. Gift Cards may not be “reloaded.” Merchants may not offer cash back as part of the Gift Card service. There is a $3.00 fee for each Gift Card (when purchased at the credit union; online orders are $5.95)). Gift Cards expire when the remaining balance reaches $0 or on the expiration date shown on the front of the card. A small monthly $2.50 service fee is waived for the first six months, and then is deducted from the card balance the first of the month (beginning in month seven) until the balance is $0 or the card expires.
Beware of Scams!

It's you hard-owned money...make sure you protect it from scammers. Here's a quick review of some current scam techniques:
“Phishing” has become a very common type of internet scam. It’s pronounced “fishing” and that’s exactly what these thieves are doing – “fishing” for personal financial information. What they want are account numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers, and other confidential information that they can use to loot the victim’s checking account or run up bills on their credit cards.
An advance fee scheme occurs when the victim pays money to someone in anticipation of receiving something of greater value, such as a loan, contract, investment, lottery, sweepstakes, or gift, and then receives little or nothing in return. An advance fee scheme can come in the form of a phone call, letter, or e-mail that tells the victim of the “opportunity” to receive this “found” money. The victim is asked to pay a fee to get the money, but gets nothing.
