Just Being a Good Partner in the Community…
As a community credit union, we are striving to become involved in our community by supporting organizations and causes that enrich and touch the lives of residents in the Genesee County communities.
Among our community partners and projects are…
 Whaley Children’s Center: through financial and volunteer support, Financial Plus has helped this organization continue to serve the important needs of kids from around the state in a residential treatment setting; this includes our support of their annual "Tux & Tennis Shoe Gala" held annually in the fall.  Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint of Greater Flint: with the 3-6PM afterschool hours being the most critical for kids, offering them some positive programming is crucial, which is why we are pleased to support this important communtiy group; through creative fundraising efforts and activities and by taking advantage of important volunteer opportunities, we are helping BGC make a positive impact in Greater Flint
 Club SCCAT (Swartz Creek Cares About Teens): this innovative program partners the Swartz Creek Schools, the United Methodist Church of SC, the SC Police Dept. and businesses like Financial Plus in offering important afterschool (structured) activities for middle and high school students; we're pleased to provide financial and volunteer support for Club SCCAT
The Greater Flint Arts Council: we understand that the arts can play an important role in helping make Genesee County a well-rounded community; that’s why we continue to support one of GFAC’s largest fundraisers – the annual Cool City Art Auction, held in late March each year
Crim Festival of Races - 30th Anniversary: we’re pleased to be the title sponsor the “Teddy Bear Trot” at this year's Crim Festival of Races, and in doing so reminding kids and families about the importance of exercise and physical activity in our lives; look for Running Bear at community events this summer. Honey Bears Hugs for Kids: We've teamed up with  B95 Continuous Country to collect new teddy bears for area fire  departments and EMS units - the teddy bears are distributed to kids involved in a crisis or trauma situation; to date, we have collected over 400 bears.

Our community involvement also includes sponsorship and participation with a number of other events, including some important fundraising golf outings for community organizations like: Old Newsboys, Girl Scouts, Flint & Grand Blanc Chambers of Commerce, UAW sponsored outings, and others.
We continue to support other causes and organizations as well, through financial, in-kind and volunteer support.
